About Me
Tim has been in the insurance industry for over 30 years. He got started in insurance as a junior in high school when he was hired as an assistant to a State Farm Insurance agent. He went on to work for a carrier and two different health insurance general agencies in underwriting, customer service, and sales. 18 years ago, Tim started his own agency, Get Benefits Insurance. 8 years ago, sensing a need to push his company further, Tim shifted his company focus and began to sell and service all lines of insurance while creating a foundation that generated opportunities for acquisitions. His company began to grow rapidly through both avenues, and he soon became the largest single owner agency in Ventura County. Seeing greater opportunity to continue growing, last year, Tim sold his company to InsZone Insurance and within months, was elevated to the position of benefit leader for California. This experience gives him a unique perspective when it comes to understanding insurance from the carriers and consumers perspective. Tim is the Immediate Past President of NABIP – California State (aka CAHIP). Before becoming president of NABIP – California, Tim received the Executive Board Member of the Year award, and while serving as President, the association received numerous awards for growth and leadership. He is passionate about helping his peers grow their agencies, finding the right insurance plans for his clients, serving people in need, and helping support worthwhile causes like Free Wheelchair Mission and Children’s Hunger Fund. Tim enjoys spending time with his family, backpacking in national parks, and traveling whenever possible. Tim is not a stranger to challenges and enjoys pushing himself to accomplish personal goals. He’s run marathons, rode a century bike ride, backpacked up and over 12,000-foot peaks, and about 10 years ago, Tim earned his black belt in To-Shin Do (pronounced ‘toe-sheen-doe”). Tim is a native Californian who lives with his beautiful wife of over 25 years, Angela, daughters Megan and Emma, and “all their pets” in Thousand Oaks, California.
